Hi everyone i have been playing my ranger now for about 2 years and have seen many builds go in and out of style. I currently run a menagerie of builds now but only use a few elites. Glass Arrows, Enraged Lunge, Meladnru's Shot etc. I would like to c a build with something not as common. Punishing Shot, Archers Signet etc. I have checked wiki but nothing good is there. So idk if this is the correct place to add this but o well lol.

P.S i would like to use a bow if i could.

Check Inc arrows , they are great with some preparation and IAS ( even more if got candy rocks or alcohol for Drunken Master ) and now pets got a buff , maybe you can use a sec prof elite too.

One of my favorite builds for VQing and HM is using Prepared Shot so that I can easily spam Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support, Signet of Infection and Pain Inverter. Sometimes I bring Epidemic for mass degen if I'm running Apply Poison. Its fun, practical and somewhat different.

Prepared Shot is also a pretty fun/decent elite to run, combined with Power Shot and other 10 energy bow attacks works great.

Careful saying this around the PvX people... there's one using basically that concept on there with a lot of scorn from posters

I personally like the idea of doing just that, and have found that prepared shot is one of the best utility elite skills a ranger can use. Combine with Expert Focus for super energy gain, use with savage shot, You move like a dwarf, pain inverter, etc. All those expensive bow attacks you always want to use but never have the energy, or those PvE only skills that don't get their costs reduced by expertise combine very well with prepared shot.

Another person posted my build just so that others would blast it to oblivion due to it's distinct lack of conformity.

The elite is not a Ranger elite, but it's a fun build for my play style and works well enough for me.

Broad Head Arrow
Distracting Shot
"I Am The Strongest!"
Read The Wind
Ebon Battle Standard of Honor
Conjure Lightning
Asuran Scan
IAS/Res

You can dole out a lot of damage even with few bow attacks and provide the interrupts with BHA, alternatively you could use another elite for more damage. EBSoH provides some buffs to the party as well. I've been using some Rock Candies as the IAS which lets me free that slot up for a Res Signet if it is a tricky area or most of the time I level up a pet.

yeah....

Prep shot + expers focus or marksmans wager are mucho fun for abusing pve spells

MY prep shot bar puts out a solid 140+dps without max titles (on MoD ofc) so its got enough juice to be viable and still fun.

I'm running something like this:

-Asuran Scan
-D.Shot
-Keen Arrow
-Sloth Hunter's Shot
-Triple Shot
-IATS
-Glass Arrows
-Res

You can also take Prep Shot for Keen Arrow and Read the Wind/Rapid Fire for Glass Arrows, i also like running ED instead of Glass Arrows and i take RtW. This build is really strong against one target,you can make ~300 dmg from Triple Shot with Asuran rank 8 and Norn 10, i have only r3 in Kurzick Allegiance so with higher rank you can increase this damage. Sloth and Keen can go about ~130-220 in soft target. With Zealous Bow String energy is not a problem, im running Exp 14 and Mark 13 attributes.

In this day I'm testing a spear/pet build(i know you ask a build for bow but it's something different from spliter/barrage o BHA build)

Expertise:10+1, Beast mastery: 10+1+2, spear mastery: 11
Skill: Asura scan, spear of lightning, poisonous bite, scavenger strike, Stunning Strike[E], pain inverter, never rampage alone, comfort animal

If there would be a better IAS I'll take spear of fury(faster Stunning Strike)instead of spear of lightning, or maybe i'd take YMLAD instead of poisonous bite.
This build do enough damage and has some tool of control, and if you are asking why I take Stunning Strike and PI on the same bar it's because I usually use PI on ele/sin/war while Stunning Strike on monk/necro or ele if the red bars of my teammates are too low.
Sometimes this build can have problem against mob that are immune to poison, usually i take Anthem of Weariness instead of poisonous bite because have a condition on the target is usefull for both Stunning strike and scavenger strike(wich is you source of energy).
It's also a good build for the discordway fan, I don't like it very much, I play GW for the challenge, but many people think that discord/sabway=PvE.

Thats a pretty balanced build between fun and damage. The thing is , imo daze elite is BS nowadays due to technobabble , you can take that PvE skill and use Ferocious Bite/Enraged lunge . With a zealous spear youll do fine and have plenty of energy for PI/TechB and Asuran Scan .
Since you have only one 15e skill maybe you should have Spear 12 and Expertise 10 but thats only a suggestion.

Thanks everyone im currently running a Punishing Shot build :P that's what i meant about different, i see everyone here responded with Prep shot, or marksman wager. XD they are great builds i agree but it's not what i wanted lol. and btw i run a R/P Feral Packer for with enraged for whomever suggested that. my build now is as follows

I will agree with all said above about various elites. I don't know about punishing shot as I haven't used it, but if you want a more specialized build, you could try a melee-hate bow build using an ebon bow and the derv elite Ebon Dust Aura along with volley for massive blind spam.
